Opioid Crisis:  We Are Who We Have Been- Jeanne Rupert, DO, PhD

In this session, Dr. Rupert will discuss historical precedents for the current opioid crisis.  She will review the evidence about causes of opioid misuse and addiction.  Finally, she will demonstrate the mismatch between current public policy and the evidence on addiction and suggest an alternate framework for treating the opioid crisis.

Jeanne Rupert, DO, PhD Related Seminars and Products


Jeanne L Rupert DO PhD currently serves as an Assistant Dean for Clinical Education at PNWU, working with students in the Mount Vernon and Puyallup regions.  She is a graduate of OUHCOM and her specialty is Family Medicine and OMM.  She also completed the AOA Health Policy Fellowship.  Dr. Rupert has worked in a variety of clinical settings.  Her PhD is in History, and her research interest is applying the knowledge and tools of that field to understanding US health care policy.
