Description

This presentation offers an update on sexually transmitted infections (STIs): their current diagnosis and treatment strategies. The recent dramatic rise in cases of congenital syphilis will also be covered. Participants will review the epidemiologic trends of infection, review the stages of syphilis, and learn to recognize the clinical manifestations associated with each stage. Treatment protocols, follow-up strategies, and partner management will be introduced. Special emphasis will be placed on the management of neurosyphilis and congenital syphilis, as well as current screening recommendations.

She also practices clinical medicine in general infectious diseases and HIV primary care at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
