Osteopathic physicians are uniquely trained to assist patients in the non-pharmacologic management of common painful injuries and mechanical dysfunctions. Short Description:
Knee osteoarthritis is very prevalent in the US population. Approximately 20% of the population over the age of 45 has OA. Treatment for is knee OA is not perfect and many people not do not qualify for treatment secondary to medical, health or age reasons. PRP may be beneficial in certain patient populations. We have a better understanding of the mechanism involved with PRP and there are multiple conflicting randomized controlled trials. Physicians should be aware of all possible options for patients.
