Ali Kopelman, MD
I am a local pediatrician, practicing for twenty years, and a lactation counselor for the last six years. I graduated with a medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2004, and then went on to do my internship, residency and chief resident year at Maine Medical Center/Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. I subsequently worked for twelve years as an office-based physician and inpatient newborn care provider at Midcoast and Southern Maine Health Center.
Three years, I opened a private practice called “Personalized Pediatrics of Maine”. I provide in-home support of newborns and breastfeeding mothers and families for the first two months of an infant’s life, before continuing this same care in the office. After receiving training through the Postpartum Support International Workshop in the spring of 2021, I have been better able to support the mental health of mothers during their first year postpartum.
