Josephine Conte, DO
Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr Josie Conte is faculty member at Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency and their ONMM3 program, and treats patients in the Waterville clinic and inpatient at the Alfond Center for Health- Maine General in Augusta.
She is a UNECOM graduate who completed a Family Medicine Residency and an NMM Plus One Residency with Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Augusta. She is boarded in Family Medicine, Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative medicine as well as Integrative Medicine.
She currently serves on the MOA Board of Directors and is Co-Chair on the Program Committee and is on the Post-Doctoral Training Committee for the AAO. She is a Board member for the Coyote Institute for Studies in Change and Transformation.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a minor in psychology from SUNY Brockport, she began her studies as a bodyworker in 1984 with the NY School of Reflexology and Shiatsu then completed a formal massage therapy program with the Swedish Institute in NYC. Her love of maternal child health brought her to become a doula and trainer for Doulas of North America (DONA) She served as Childbirth Education coordinator for Ballard House Birth Center in Portland, ME and developed programs for expectant and new parents there and Maine Medical Center in Portland. She is a RYT-200 Yoga Instructor with Ayurveda Yoga Specialist training and practices Integrative Structural Acupuncture.
Dr Conte created a free clinic at New Beginnings in Lewiston – and is always looking for volunteers to support the youth.
