Dr. Shumway is one of the leading voices on clinical applications and workflow integration of large language model artificial intelligence in the osteopathic medical community. He has written thought-provoking pieces in The DO and peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as given dozens of accredited CME presentations on this topic at medical conferences nationwide. He has also served on the American Osteopathic Foundation’s (AOF) Osteopathic Future Initiative, advocating for digital health training in osteopathic medical education. Dr. Shumway is a graduate of both the AOA Leadership Academy and a Training in Policy Studies (TIPS) Fellow.
