Physicians and medical professionals will learn to identify a rational sequence of treatment of muscle imbalance and utilize special tests to identify muscle imbalance and patterns specific to the upper and lower crossed syndromes. They will learn to advise patients to correctly balance re-training and to correctly stretch hypertonic/facilitated muscles. The lecture aims to discuss the implementation of osteopathic recognition into an existing ACGME program. We delve into the areas of concern; curriculum, scholarship, faculty development and assessments. Clear examples are given for each area. The use of Scholar Teacher located on the OOA website is an excellent means of providing Osteopathic faculty development. The Scholar Series, also found on the OOA website will also assist in the development of Osteopathic research. In addition, we look into avenues for the submission of scholarly work through Scholar Complete. With these tools and discussion, we hope that all ACGME programs will reach Osteopathic recognition.
