Nathan Johnston, DO

Dr. Nathan S. Johnston is a private practice psychiatrist in the Northwest area of San Antonio. He completed his psychiatry residency training at the UT Health — San Antonio (UTH-SA) where he served as the chief resident. Dr. Johnston has been the recipient of multiple national and local awards, has published and presented multiple research projects of his own design, and remains an adjunct faculty member at the UTH-SA campus where he gives weekly lectures to the psychiatry residents and medical students.

Dr. Johnston founded Phoenix Mental Health to bring new, innovative, evidence-based treatments for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) to the people of San Antonio… and beyond. Phoenix Mental Health will be the first clinical site in San Antonio to offer Deep Brain Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), while also offering IV Ketamine and Intranasal Ketamine (Spravato) all for the treatment of MDD.

In addition to the above, Dr. Johnston can diagnose and treat a multitude of mental health issues including, but not limited to, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, thought disorders/psychosis, ADHD, and autism.
