Learning Objectives:
● Identify and explain the key systemic, clinical, and social barriers to accessing eating disorder (ED) care across diverse populations.
● Describe the impact of weight stigma and bias within healthcare settings on the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of individuals with eating disorders.
● Differentiate between weight-centric and weight-neutral approaches, including their implications for patient outcomes and provider-patient relationships.
● Apply osteopathic principles to support weight-inclusive care by integrating evidenced-based care in the management of EDs.
The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Brandi Stalzer is a Board Certified Telemental Health Professional and licensed therapist specializing in binge eating symptoms, and their underlying causes. She currently serves on the Eating Disorder Coalition of Iowa board. She is committed to supporting not just individuals affected by these issues, but also addressing the systemic weight stigma that many of her clients face.
Brandi has presented at many conferences and organizations nationwide, including the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Before founding Libra Virtual Care, she served as the Clinical Director for the most extensive virtual eating disorder program at the time, where her passion for virtual care grew. She has also led numerous other eating disorder programs across the country.
She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Binge Eating. She also utilizes techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention.
