Learning Objectives:
● Examine the epidemiology of gender dysphoria and the health outcomes of gender-diverse individuals across various demographics.
● Review current screening recommendations and health risks for transgender individuals, focusing on preventive care and gender-affirming treatments.
● Understand gender-affirming medications and surgeries, including their benefits, risks, and individualized treatment approaches.
● Analyze legislative challenges and policies impacting transgender rights, healthcare access, and gender-affirming care.
The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Amy Bingaman was born in Chicago and has lived in six states but now proudly considers Iowa home, having lived there the longest.
After earning a degree from Drake University in 1997, she went on to graduate from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 2002. She completed her OB/GYN residency in 2006 at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. Following eight years of active duty military service, Dr. Bingaman returned to Iowa and practiced at UnityPoint Methodist for a decade before joining Broadlawns OB/GYN in 2021.
She is happily married to a 50/50 farmer and is a proud parent of four children. Outside of work, she enjoys running, spinning, reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
