Children and teens suffer about three million injuries due to sports or recreational activities every year. One in every five pediatric visits to the ER is for a sports or recreational injury. The good news is that about half of them are preventable. This session will address some of the most common injuries and how to treat or refer them out.
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize the significance of mental health issues in adolescents.
- Discuss ACL injury reduction treatment and return to performance.
- Describe new concepts in concussion management.
