Every day, thousands of Americans visit the emergency room for sports or exercise-related injuries. It is imperative that primary care physicians know when to send their patients to already overcrowded emergency departments to expedite diagnosis and treatment. This session will discuss the most common injuries and how to treat in the office as opposed to the ED.
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Decide when to send your patient to the ED.
- Discuss what constitutes as an emergency and what does not constitute as an emergency.
- Implement common strategies to treat in-office.
